The nuclear family occurs less and less in the modern-day. It is not unusual that both parents will work full-time jobs, especially as their children get older. But sometimes two people will come to an agreement that one will dedicate more of their time to raising their kids and take on a "stay at home parent" position. This is fine as long as it is 100% consensual and most of all, recognized as a 24/7 career.
